To Don and family,
I was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of my long time friend since second grade. I can't say enough about what a true friend Bet was to me over the years. As we married, had families and the years evaporated, she remained the same positive, bright, kind and loyal person she had always been, even throughout her illness. I didn't stay in touch as well as I now wish I had, but she will always have a special place in my heart. Bill joins me in sending you and your children our deepest sympathy. Brenda Eden Powell

I was told today by a friend at Bible Study at St. Michael's in Auburn, that she had read an obituary in the paper about a lady who was a member of the Hot Dog Group. She said ,"Weren't you a member of that group?" When I said that I was, she told me that it was a lady by the name of Betty. I couldn't believe it was Betty Lawrence, as I have thought of her many times lately, but was told she had moved. I rec'd an email from my friend with the obituary at 11:20 when I returned home. By the time I could have gotten to the church in Opelika, the funeral would have been over. I am so sorry that I didn't know, but I have been out of the group for the last few years, due to the conflict with Bible Study. None of the other members called to tell me, or I would have been there. My condolences go to her family. she was a lovely lady, and will be missed.
