Clara Bond Martin

Clara Bond Martin, 71 of Auburn, Alabama departed from this earthly world Saturday, June 16, 2018. She was born July 3, 1946 in Opelika, AL to the late Henry Grady Bond and Kate Merritt Bond. She was a loving wife, mother, “nannie”, sister, and friend. Clara was an avid Alabama football fan and could be found on game day afternoons loudly correcting anyone that chose to cheer against her beloved Crimson Tide.

Clara was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, James Bond; and her son, Larry Wade Martin. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Larry H. Martin; daughters: Kathy Martin of Opelika; Audra Laking (Don) of Hogansville, GA; Jami Howell (Sam) of Opelika, AL; grandchildren: Ciera Sanasith, Brooke Chunn (David), Briahna Preston, Kristan Domingus (Jeremy), Tommy Howell, and Lainee Howell; great-grandchildren: Cole Catrett and Hadleigh Chunn; brother, Bobby Bond (Patsy) of Opelika, AL; sister, Joyce Pylant (Carl) of Ozark, AL.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 20, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM/CT at Jeffcoat-Trant Funeral Home in Opelika, AL. A private family service will be held at a later date.
