David Daniel Hosemann, 74, died Sunday, January 13, 2019, in Auburn, AL following an extended illness.
He was born May 3, 1944 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. David was a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi. Enlisting in the United States Army, he went to officer candidate school following graduation. He was a helicopter pilot in Vietnam. He was a recipient of several awards, including a Bronze Star. Upon his retirement after twenty years of service, he taught school for five years in the Auburn City School system. A volunteer at church, he spent time with the AU student organization and helped wherever needed. He will be remembered for his dry wit and commanding presence. Always willing to listen, and never short on advice, he was loved by many. He loved his family, God, and his country…and watching the Atlanta Braves often through his eyelids.
