Douglas Milton Chamblee, 56, of Beulah, Alabama passed away at his home on January 9, 2019 after an extended battle with cancer. Doug was born November 19th, 1962 in Lee County, AL. He was an Auburn High School graduate, class of 1981. He was employed by and made many lifelong friends at Diversified Products, then went on to pursue his passion for stained glass art with his mother at GlassDesigns. He had a passion for life, art, friends, and family. He was a beloved son, cherished brother, devoted husband, supportive father, an adored grandfather, a “Knuckle Doug”, a faithful companion and loyal friend of so many. He spent his days as we all should: surrounded by community, celebrating other’s victories, and empathizing with them in their grief. He truly showed us the best version of humanity.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 18 years, Sheri Ward Chamblee. He is survived by his father, Milton (Brenda) Chamblee, and mother, Alice Fincher Chamblee. A beloved son, Milton (Amber) Chamblee, grandsons Cooper, Reid, and Everett Chamblee. His best friend and companion, Beth Watkins. Two siblings, Phillip (Beth) Chamblee, Joy (Joseph) Young, niece and nephews: Allison Chamblee, JP Chamblee, and Colton, Andrew, Tyler and Garrett Young. Great-nephews Will and Troy Tillery.

A celebration of life will be held at Jeffcoat-Trant Funeral Home on Saturday, January 12th at 11:00 cst with a gathering to follow at The Bottling Plant in Opelika, AL.
