Dr. Joseph Peterson Obituary

Joseph Gregory Peterson, age 92, died peacefully on May 11, 2019. He loved classical music and was an avid gardener who cultivated dozens of azalea varieties. Joe taught at Auburn University as an associate professor of chemistry for 33 years. He later served as chief chemist for Westpoint Stevens. He is survived by Jean, his wife of 67 years; a sister Thespina; four children: Gregory, Victor, Alexander, and Juliana; two daughters-in-law: Mary and Laura; and three grandchildren: Lauren, Victor, and Lance. A private family memorial and remembrance was held.
