Dr. Santiago Ebalo Obituary
Funeral service for Dr. Santiago M. Ebalo, 80, of Auburn, Alabama is Thursday, March 28, 2019, at 2:00pm, at Jeffcoat-Trant Chapel. Visitation is Wednesday, March 27, 2019, from 6:00pm – 8:00pm at Jeffcoat-Trant Funeral Home. Monsignor William Skoneki is officiating.
Dr. Ebalo was born in the Philippines on June 10, 1938 to Marcial and Lina Ebalo. He graduated with a Degree of Medicine specializing in EENT at UERMMC in Quezon City. He moved to the United States in 1968 and practiced his profession in different clinics. He entered the United States Air Force for three years and then moved to Port St. Lucie, Florida to start his own practice. Dr. Santiago moved to Auburn, Alabama and worked as staff physician for the VA Hospital in Tuskegee, Alabama. He loved his job with a passion and was unhappy when he retired in 2005 because of a medical condition.
He was always full of joy and woke up every morning so giddy with happiness that he had the opportunity to be alive. He never met a stranger and loved being around his “pretty girls”. He joined a REACH program sponsored by AUMC and considered it the highlight of his week.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Michael’s Catholic Church.
