Funeral services for Dr. Yung Cho, 80, of Auburn, Alabama will be held at Jeffcoat-Trant Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, March 13, with visitation from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm, with the service immediately following at 2:00 pm. There will be a private internment on Thursday.
Dr. Cho passed away on Saturday, March 9, in Auburn, Alabama. He was born on August 15, 1938 in Canton, China. He immigrated to the United States after receiving his DVM Degree in Taiwan, Republic of China, and settled in Auburn, Alabama, where he received his Ph.D. In poultry science. Yung served as a faculty member at Tuskegee Institute (currently Tuskegee University) for over 30 years in the veterinary medicine program, and also received his board certification in microbiology. He was an avid tango and ballroom dancer and an active member of the Auburn, Montgomery, Columbus, and Birmingham dance communities. Yung had a passion studying Chinese history and reading Classical Chinese literature. Yung also enjoyed visiting his children’s families in Eugene, Oregon and New Orleans, Louisiana.
Yung is survived by his wife, Mary; Brother Kong; Sons Peter (Louanne) and Albert (Autumn); Grandchildren Caroline, Colin, and Emily. He was preceded in death by his father Ngai Cho, Mother Yao-Fan Ng, and Brother James.
