Eva Dolores Porter

Eva Dolores Pierce Porter, 69, gained her eternal reward on Friday, November 30, 2018 in Opelika, AL.

Dolores, or “Dee” as she was known by family and close friends, was born on January 20, 1949 to Charles and Darline Pierce in Baytown, Tx.  She was the second of five daughters. Baytown, Tx was her hometown until 2009 when she moved to Opelika. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Darline Pierce; her father, Charles Floyd Pierce; and her sister, Linda Darnell Beam.

She is survived by her children, Sheryl Ciavarelli and husband, Paul of Opelika, AL and Emery Porter Jr and wife, Heidi of Friendswood, TX. She is also survived by her sisters, Mary Hale of New Caney, Tx, Charlene Crane and husband, Dwight of New Caney, Tx and Becky Crane and husband, Coleman of Segno, Tx. Her many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews will lovingly remember their Aunt Dee.

Dolores was a Godly woman, a devoted daughter, and a dear sister, but above all she was a wonderful mother who gave her all to her two children. Her greatest joy in life was family and she counted being a mother as her greatest accomplishment. She touched many lives with her kindness, humbleness, and selflessness. Though she was quiet in nature, she was not afraid to share her testimony or faith in God. She held on to that faith until the end of her life and we know that God held her hand as He led her to her new Home. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at Gateway Pentecostal Sanctuary where she was a member for 9 years. There will also be a family memorial in Texas after the first of the year.
