James "Jim" M. Jones

James M. “Jim” Jones, 87, of Auburn, passed away Friday, October 13, 2017 at Oak Park in Auburn.  Jim was the son of the late James Delmer and Dora Kilpatrick Jones.  He was a retired Chief Clerk with the US Bankruptcy Court, Middle District of Alabama.  Jim graduated from Auburn University and was a member of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity.  He received his J.D. from Jones Law School and was a member of Sigma Delta Kappa Fraternity.  Jim also was a lifetime member of the AU Alumni Association.  Jim was a US Army veteran during the Korean War.

Surviving is his wife, Janene Hocutt Jones; children, Sharon Jones Wilson, James Stephen (Libby) Jones, Craig David Jones, Lyn Jones (David) Littleton and Patty Adams Jones; grandchildren, Mathew Thomas (Beth) Wilson, Aaron Stephen (Catherine) Jones, Meredith Wilson (Shawn) Mitchell, Craig David Jones Jr., Kevin Martin (Kaitlyn) Littleton, James Derek Jones, Emily Janene Littleton, and Rachel Elizabeth Littleton; great grandchildren, Kyler Mathew Mitchell, Evan Connor Wilson, Avery Caroline Wilson, Wyatt Shawn Mitchell and James Pearson Jones.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, October 16, 2017 at 1PM at First Baptist Church of Opelika (Chapel).  Burial will follow in Garden Hills Cemetery.  Visitation will be one hour prior at the church.
