Julie was born on January 9, 1943 in Memphis, TN to Imogene Kimbrell Jopling and William Walker Jopling. She was raised by her grandparents in Bartlett, TN and graduated from Bartlett High School. She married Stephen Joseph McCluskey, Jr. in 1965 and moved to Jackson, MS. She graduated from Mississippi College in Clinton, MS and worked for over 20 years as an insurance adjuster. Her hobbies were horseback riding, ballroom and country-western dancing, politics, reading, and gardening.
In 2015, after living in Mississippi for 50 years, she moved to Auburn, AL. She enjoyed various activities through the Auburn/Opelika Newcomers Club and the seniors program at AUMC. Her greatest joy, however, came from spending time with her three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Joyce Joplin.
Survivors include her son, Stephen Joseph McCluskey, III (Catie) from Madison, MS; her daughter, Anna McCluskey Anderson (Shane) from Auburn, AL; her grandchildren: Sydney Landrum, Drew McCluskey and Cade McCluskey; her sister, Joanna J. Bruno of Collierville, TN; Jenny Arnett of Southaven, MS; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Julie was a loving mother and grandmother and will be sorely missed.
