June Luttrell Martin

June Luttrell Martin passed away on Friday, November 9, 2018 in Auburn, AL.  She was born on September 2, 1931 to Gary Eugene Luttrell and Eunice White Luttrell in Atlanta, GA.  June graduated from Ramsey High School in Birmingham, AL and received her B.S. and M.S. in Education from Auburn University. 

June was a dedicated and enthusiastic homemaker.  Caring for her family was always her first priority.  She enjoyed sewing, gardening, decorating and cooking and used those skills to create a loving and comfortable home for her husband and children.  She was also active in community life and worked with church and civic groups everywhere she lived.  June taught briefly at Opelika High School and Alexander City Junior College.

June was an Elder in the Presbyterian Church USA and enjoyed working on numerous church committees and with Presbyterian Women in Atlanta, Auburn, Fairhope and Spanish Fort.

June is survived by her children Susan Patterson (Allen) of Auburn, AL; John S. Martin, Jr. (Jennifer) of Cumming, GA; and Virginia Martin of Cumming, GA.  She is also survived by her grandchildren Richard Patterson (Sierra), Robert Patterson (Stephanie), Olivia Martin, Andrea Martin McComis (August), Elena Hall Konter, step-grandson Jason Lazarus, her great-grandson Roan Davis Patterson and her step-great-granddaughter Mia Farr.

June was predeceased by her husband of 65 years John Stokes Martin, Sr., her parents, and her sisters Doris Luttrell Hill Morris and Gary Luttrell Weber.

A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church, Auburn, AL on Friday, November 16, 2018 at 2:00 PM CST following a private graveside service at Town Creek Cemetery in Auburn, AL.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Memorial Fund of First Presbyterian Church, 143 E. Thach Ave., Auburn, AL 36830.
