Mr. Clyde Henry Shorter, Jr.

Clyde Henry Shorter Jr., passed away at home surrounded by his family on July 15^th at the age of 91. He was born in Hinton, Summers County, West Virginia to Henry Shorter Sr. and Lucy Hunter Holland.

Mr. Shorter is survived by two daughters, Brenda Kay Herrod-Gonzalez and Janet Lea Frederic (Cooley), 5 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Shorter retired in 1966 as a SFC/E7 from the U.S army after 20 years, 5 months and 27 days of active service. He served in two Korean Wars and was stationed all over the world. He worked as a mechanic for the remainder of his working career until approximately 1980. He was an active member in his community, donating his time and resources to many. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints where he served as stake president in Jesup, Georgia.

Visitation services will be held at Jeffcoat-Trant Funeral Home on Wednesday July 17^th from 6-8 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday July 18^th at 2 p.m. Graveside services at Garden Hills Cemetery to follow.
