To honor her wishes to the very end, Mary Sue Goolsby McCall was buried in Garden Hills Cemetery, Opelika, AL, at 3:00 in the afternoon on June 17, 2019, in a private graveside service. She was laid to rest next to her husband of 55 years, James L. McCall, who predeceased her in 2004. The service was officiated by Pastor David Floyd.

Mary Sue was born on October 2, 1931, in Autauga County, AL. She passed away at Oak Park Nursing Home, Auburn, AL, early in the morning of Monday, June 17, 2019.

She is survived by her six children: Jim (Charlene), Mark, Kash (Debbie), Paul (Beth), Merry (Mark), and Alice. Also surviving her are seven grandchildren: Ashley (Emillie), Cliff (Amanda), Lauren, Nathan (Ansley), Alison (Stewart), Amy, and Emma. And her three great-grandchildren: Caden, Hailey, and Isabella.

Her family will always cherish the memories of her Thanksgiving dressing, fried chicken, black-eyed peas and cornbread, Brunswick stew, working on crypto quote and crossword puzzles, and her strong work-ethic.
