Mr. Stanley John Czerkawski Sr., 86, of Auburn passed away peacefully August 19, 2018 at Bethany House in Auburn.
He was born November 21, 1931, son of Victor and Michelina Czerkawski in Brooklyn, New York. He graduated from the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn in civil engineering and retired after 48 years in the construction industry with general electrics in 1996. He worked as a project manager for Bechtel Co. in Jubail, Saudi Arabia and with General Electric in Mt. Vernon, Indiana and Bay St. Louis, MS. He served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War. He was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church and a proud Auburn University parent, booster and an avid Auburn Football fan. He enjoyed playing Bridge, painting and spending time with his family, especially at the holidays.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years, Dolores; infant son, Stefan; and daughter-in-law, Debbie (Stanley Jr.).
He is survived by his sons: Stanley, Jr., Gregory (Michelle), Chris (Cyndi), and Thomas (Patrice); daughters: Melinda (Pat) and Stephanie (Mike); and 13 grandchildren.
Visitation for Mr. Czerkawski will be held at Jeffcoat-Trant Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 24, 2018. A Mass of Resurrection will be held Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church with burial at a later date. Father Bill Skoneki officiating.
