Addie Elizabeth Green Abercrombie, 103 of Opelika, Alabama, passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Monday, March 24, 2025, at Arbor Springs Health and Rehab. She was born on March 14, 1922 to William Elbert and Addie Elizabeth Lovejoy Green. Addie was a devoted wife, loving stepmother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was a wonderful lady with a strong faith and was a member of Pepperell United Methodist Church . Addie worked at M. Snower Sewing Plant and retired after 32 years. After retirement, Addie loved to sew, gardening, and was a devoted Auburn fan and Braves fan for over 40 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Elbert and Addie Elizabeth Lovejoy Green; stepson, Ray Estes (Melanie his wife); brother, Paul Green; sisters: Daisy Mae Miller, Dollie Newton, Mary Knowles, and Catherine Green. She was married to Emmitt Marshall White 43 years, Lubie Hugo Estes 4 years, and to Charlie Frank Abercrombie in 1991 until his death December 26, 2004.
She is survived by 5 step-children: Charlie Trippi Abercrombie (daughter-in-law Lisa), Rita Dubose, Brenda Christian, Deloris Stephens (son in law Glenn), Hugo Estes, Jr. (daughter-in-law Cindy); along with several nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff of Arbor Springs Health and Rehab and especially to the dedicated workers on the Third Hall. Heartfelt thanks also to Southeast Hospice.
Her funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at Jeffcoat-Trant Funeral Home with visitation at 10:00 am, funeral services at 11:00 am with a graveside service to follow at Garden Hills Cemetery. Reverend Rick Lane will be officiating.
Addie will be deeply missed but her memory will live in the hearts of her family and all who knew her.
