Albert Lawrence Marshall

Albert Lawrence Marshall passed from this life to his eternal rest on November 8, 2020 at the age of 97. He was born September 19, 1923 in Newark, New Jersey to Marianna Salvatoriello Malanga and Gerardo Malanga (siblings Ralph; Jewel; Mildred; Lawrence; Gerardo; May).  He resided in Auburn, Alabama at the time of his death.

Albert served honorably in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1942 to 1945, including a tour in the Pacific as a sniper, and he had many stories to tell of his WWII experiences.  After the war, Albert studied vocal music in New York City and spent time cutting demos and singing with a number of bands. In 1948 at a gig and in the middle of a blizzard, Albert met Barbara Ann Baker from Montclair, New Jersey. They married in January of 1950 and enjoyed 70 years of marriage. Albert worked for Firestone Tire and Rubber for 30 years before retiring to Florida to play golf and read his beloved newspapers. Barbara survives him, as do his three children: Pamela Marshall of North Hollywood, California; Patricia Marshall of Wayne, New Jersey; and William Marshall (Angela) of Auburn, Alabama.  Albert also leaves a granddaughter (Cerissa), 4 grandsons (Jake, Alex J., John Alexander; Luke) and 3 great-grandchildren (Danny, Leimany and Ryver). 

Albert Lawrence Marshall lived a long life, and he did it his way. He will live on in the memories of those who knew him.
