Camilla Ann Wettlaufer Hirschel, 92, of Opelika, Alabama, passed away on November 9, 2024. She is preceded in death by her father, George “Bud” Wettlaufer; her mother, Chestera “Jess” Romulda Borys; her second husband, Frank Harry Hirschel; and her first husband, William Lewis Ostrowski; and a brother, Karl Wetlaufer.
She is survived by her children: Stephanie Renee Ostrowski; Sean Francis Ostrowski; Paul Nathan Ostrowski; Stepchildren: Philip Gel Hirschel and Frank Jonathan Hirschel; Grandchildren: Ellie Ostrowski; Lucy Ostrowski; Alexandra Manolaros; Beatrice Hirschel; Dylan Hirschel; and a sister, Gretchen Wettlaufer DePaull.
A private family ceremony will be held on Saturday, 4/12/2025 at 11 AM (Central Time Zone) to scatter Camilla's ashes/cremains at historic Slaughter Cemetery near Camp Hill, Alabama. Reverend Darcy Corbett, Pastor of Camp Hill Universalist Church to officiate.
On 4/12/2025 Saturday afternoon at 2:00 PM there will be a public memorial service for Camilla's family and friends at Auburn Unitarian Universalist Fellowship (AUUF) on Thach St. in Auburn, Al. Rev. Martia Keller to officiate. For those unable to attend in person, a Zoom link will be posted at www.auuf.org
