Memorial service for Chambliss “Price” Hornsby, of Auburn, is Friday, April 2nd, at 5:30 p.m. at Auburn Community Church. The Rev. Miles Fidell is officiating. Visitation is Friday, April 2nd, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Mr. Hornsby was born May 5th, 2003 and passed away Friday, March 26th, at his home in Auburn.
Price graduated early from Auburn High School, in December 2020, with a 3.5 GPA. He was accepted into the military and weeks away from entering the Space Force, a branch of the United States Air Force. Space Force personnel are called Guardians. Price thought that was the coolest. He would say, “I’m going to be a Guardian.” Price was a gifted wrestler with Auburn High School. His coaches would say he had the most natural talent. He loved spending time with his family and friends at the lake, especially driving the boat and riding jet skis. He loved to laugh and to make others laugh. Price’s bright blue eyes and his smile that everyone talks about would light up any room. He was a wonderful son, brother, and friend and will be greatly missed by all.
Price is survived by his parents, Ray and Lee Hornsby; his sisters, Emerson Ray and Ella Ann; his paternal grandmother, Mickey Hornsby; maternal grandfather, Hugh Price; uncle, Jason Hornsby; aunt, Blakely Ellis (Robbie); uncle, Chris Price (Heather); and cousins, Karson, Kiley, Kindal, Anna Claire, Jacob, and Austin.
Price is reunited with his paternal grandfather, PawPaw (Donald Hornsby); his maternal grandmother, Moe (Mona Price); his maternal grandfather, Jeff Clark; his aunt, Kristin Hornsby.
In lieu of flowers, Ray and Lee would like to lead others to Christ by requesting donations be made to Auburn Community Church building fund. ACC has set up a memorial fund in honor of Price.
