David Arthur Davis

David Arthur Davis, 75, of Opelika passed away Tuesday 14, 2023.

Mr. Davis was born January 6, 1948 in Alabama to parents Arthur and Ouida Whatley Davis. He grew up in Salem, AL and graduated from Smiths Station High School in 1966. After Graduating from Auburn University in 1971, he went on to work for ABC Theaters in August and Columbus, GA. In 1976, he moved back to Opelika and worked for West Point Stevens until 2088. Other than his family, the most important part of his life was his Lord and Savior. He was a member of Trinity Methodist Church of Opelika, AL where he served the Lord humbly and faithfully since 1984.

Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his parents, Huey and Ouida Davis; and his brother, Glen H. Davis. 

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Anne Hodgkins Davis; son: Jeffery Davis (Amy) and their daughter, Sumner of Colorado Springs, CO; son: Jonathan Davis (Dallas) and their children: Charlie, Chase and Auburn Davis of Auburn, AL; brother: Phil Davis (Diane) of Columbus, GA; and his nephew and nieces. 

A funeral service will be held Saturday, November 18, 2023 at 11 am at Trinity Methodist Church of Opelika. A visitation will be held one-hour prior beginning at 10 am. Pastor Earl Ballard is to officiate. Interment will be held at Garden Hills Cemetery following the service.

In Lieu  of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his name to the Helping Fund.
