Deborah Carol Sheldon (Miller), 61, of Opelika died suddenly on July 26, 2024. Born in Burlington, Vermont, December 21, 1962, Deborah has been a proud Alabamian for well over 40 years. Preceded in death by her father, Carlton Willard Sheldon, and her mother, Rosa Leona Whatley, siblings: John David Hickman, Rosa Mae Hickman, Jacqueline Garrow, Carl Sheldon Jr., Dale Sheldon, Doris Sheldon, Margaret Garrow; and her faithful companion “Jade”.
Deborah is survived by Carl “Andy” (Piedad) Garrow, Gail (Robert) Spratlin, Susan Sheldon, Darling (Arthur) Marshall, Darrel (Lisa) Sheldon, Steven (Nannette) Sheldon, William Spratlin and Sharron Sheldon, as well as an entire host of nieces and nephews that she loved as her own children.
Deborah was a cosmetologist and later went on to nursing school where she explored her love of helping and caring for others. After early medical retirement, Deborah spent her time crafting and being creative, much like her Dad. She also had his quick wit and sense of humor, and loving all the children in her life much like her mom.
Deborah was a beloved sister and Aunt and she will be missed immeasurably.
The family is holding a Celebration of Life ceremony at Little Texas Community Church and Tabernacle in Tuskegee, Alabama. Services starting August 17, 2024 at 11:00 am CST.
Lunch will be provided by the family following the service.
The family asks that all in attendance dress comfortably.
