DiAnn Cullinan, born on September 9, 1947, in Appleton, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2026, in Opelika, Alabama. She was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose kindness and creativity touched the lives of many.
DiAnn's journey through life was marked by her entrepreneurial spirit and passion for the arts. After owning a successful clothing store named Pierre Le’Monde in her hometown of Appleton, she expanded her horizons establishing a similar business venture while living in Australia. In 1991, she settled in Opelika, Alabama with her husband Harry, where she established The Castle on Highpoint, an artistic venture that became a beloved fixture in the community.
Beyond her business endeavors, DiAnn was a dedicated parishioner of St. Michael's Catholic Church, where she had been a member since 1991. Her faith was a guiding light in her life, and she served as the Chairperson of Liturgical Aesthetics for many years, contributing to the spiritual fabric of her parish. DiAnn was also deeply involved with the Opelika Historic Preservation Society and played a leading role in overseeing and growing the Victorian Front Porch Christmas Tour over the course of many years.
Her love for gardening and beauty was evident in the vibrant displays of flowers that adorned her home, a testament to her nurturing spirit. An avid animal lover, she was a devoted cat and dog mom who found joy in the companionship of her furry friends. Above all, she cherished her role as a loving grandmother to Cameron and Hudson Cullinan.
DiAnn is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Gertrude and George Bahr. She is survived by her devoted husband of 44 years, Harry Cullinan; her son, Kevin Cullinan; and her treasured grandchildren, Cameron and Hudson Cullinan.
As a resident of Opelika, Alabama, since 1991, DiAnn Cullinan will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and artistic talents. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she loved and inspired.
A Funeral Mass will be Monday, April 27, 2026 at 10:30 AM at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Auburn.
