Richard L. Kuhn Jr., a dedicated podiatrist, community servant, and cherished husband, father, and friend, passed away on Monday, July 29, 2024, at the age of 69. Dr. Kuhn 's life was a testament to his unwavering commitment to his family, his country, and his community.
Born with a passion for service, Dr. Kuhn 's journey began in the Army, where he honed his sense of duty and developed a profound respect for his fellow citizens. After his military service, he channeled his dedication into a distinguished career in podiatry, where he was known not only for his exceptional skills but also for his straightforward honesty, kindness, and distinctive sense of humor.
Dr. Kuhn was deeply involved in his community, using his talents and resources to contribute to various charitable causes, particularly through construction projects that improved the lives of many. His generosity extended beyond his professional life; he was a pillar of strength and support, known for his practical wisdom and willingness to lend a hand.
A devoted member of the Church of the Highlands, Richard's faith was a cornerstone of his life. His love for his wife, Mary, and their two children, David and Leigh Anne, was evident in all he did. His family was his greatest joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
Dr. Kuhn 's legacy will be remembered for his unyielding integrity, his compassion, and his unique ability to blend humor with heartfelt sincerity. He was a man who lived fully, loved deeply, and served selflessly. His impact on those around him will be felt for years to come.
Dr. Kuhn is survived by his beloved wife, Mary; his children, David and Leigh Anne; and a host of friends and extended family who will miss his presence dearly. A memorial service will not be held in accordance with Dr. Kuhn’s wishes, his ashes will be spread in the mountains.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Fuller Center in Lanett, honoring Richard's lifelong commitment to helping others.
