Gary Ray Olds

Gary Ray Olds passed away Friday, August 2nd at the age of 72 unexpectedly. He was a much loved husband, father, pawpaw and great papaw. He will remain forever in the hearts and minds of everyone who knew and loved him.

Gary was born May 1, 1952 in Columbus, GA. He was preceded in death by his parents Ray and Barbara Olds, grandson Jacob Dwight Dailey.

Gary married Marjorie Nell Jacobs on May 22, 1980 in Phenix City, AL. He loved being an ironworker for more than 44 years and crane operator for 30 of those years.

Being up high in the sky was his favorite place to be.

After retirement Gary moved on to his next love of family, cooking, woodworking, fishing and anything that included time with his wife.

Gary is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Marjorie Olds, sister Gail Goodman, one son two daughters: Jimmy Dailey (Norma), Kristie Stanfield (Keith), Katey Olds (Alan). Gary was affectionately known as paw-paw to his 6 grandchildren; Jonathan, Jacob, P.J., William, Amber, and Sammy. Also known as paw-paw to his 10 great-grandchildren; Ashtyn, Kaidence, Avery, Ashlynn, Josie, Jayden, Abel, Layton, Tresyn and Jr.

Visitation will be on Tuesday August 6, 2024 from10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at Jeffcoat-Trant Funeral Home with memorial service immediately following in the chapel.
