Goode G Dorman, III

Colonel (Ret) Goode G Dorman III “Geedy”, 69, passed away at his residence in Opelika, AL, surrounded by his loving family on March 26, 2025, after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Laurel, Mississippi on June 03, 1955, second born of the late Goode G Dorman Jr. and Ikie Belle Dorman. COL (Ret) Dorman is survived by his wife, Beth (Ballard) Dorman; daughters Ellen (Ryan) Harding, Claire (Corey) Davis; four grandchildren, Sarah Claire Harding, Ellery Harding, Mary Ballard Davis, and Hampton Davis.

COL (Ret) Dorman was preceded in death by his father, Goode G Dorman Jr; Mother Ikie Belle Dorman; and sister, Mary Ellen Dorman.

The Celebration of Life Service is to be held at 1:00 p.m. (EST) on March 31, 2025, at The Infantry Chapel, 7070 Sigerfoos Road, Fort Benning, GA 31905. (All civilians without military identification will need to check in at the gate before entry to Fort Benning. This process will take about 10 minutes.)

Burial will take place at 2:30 p.m. (EST) at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery, 553 AL-165, Fort Mitchell, AL 36856

Visitation 12:15-1:00 p.m. (EST) prior to The Celebration of Life service, The Infantry Chapel, 7070 Sigerfoos Road, Fort Benning, GA
