Jennie Marlene Floyd, of Cusseta, AL, left us on August 7th 2024 @ 3:30 pm. She passed peacefully in the presence of her boys thanks to the efforts of the staff at UAB who gave her that opportunity.
She was born in Selma, AL on December 6th 1952, to Billy Bryan Henry and Annie Lurlene Copeland.
Jennie is survived by, Her brother ... Mike Henry and his sons Bryan and Jesse. 4 sons ... Nick Floyd, his wife, Diana, and their sons Logan and Duncan from Cusseta, AL. Jacob Floyd from Cusseta, AL. Daniel Floyd and his wife Naomi from Okinawa Japan. Nathan Floyd, his wife, Daphne, and their children Gabe, Hannah, Hope, Silas and Matt from Madison, AL. A stepdaughter ... Bridget Hernandez of Evansville, IN. And ... A pet pig, 6 cats, and 22 chickens.
Jennie loved her animals and was never without an assortment of God's creatures. She was the type of person who never met a stranger. Those who were, or became her family, were always her family, and she never quit loving them. She loved gardening, sewing, and painting. She had survived cancer, not once, but twice even after they told her it was terminal. Her faith in God gave her strength in her dark days, and peace in the good days.
There will be a memorial service for Jennie on Monday, August 12 @ 11 :00 am at Jeffcoat-Trant funeral home in Opelika, AL.
For those who wish to send flowers we would ask you to instead consider donating to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, or the American Cancer Society. All of which, she and her family were affected by during her life, and she would appreciate.
