Jimmy D. Akers

Jimmy Dewayne Akers 68, of Cullman Alabama passed away on June 17, 2021 from an unexpected heart attack. Even though a failing heart took him away from this world, his loving heart left a beacon of light for all. Jimmy was a proud Vietnam War Veteran whom served multiple tours of duty, an electrical engineer and self proclaimed comedian who had no boundaries . He kept people rolling in laughter because he could find humor in the most mundane life circumstances. His recent hobbies included acrylic painting and flirting with any woman that'd give him an ear to bend.

 

 Anyone else would have passed quietly with family by their side. Jimmy went out with a bang, telling family if it's my time so be it, I had one hell of a life.

 

Jimmy had a passionate love affair with ice cream, and all things sweet. He is survived by his two children who inherited his quick wit (Amy and Stephen), two grandson's named Steven M. Akers, Cole D. Akers, three great grandchildren, and one angry hissing cat named rottenhead.

 

 A private celebration of life is scheduled for October 2021 and Jimmy's ashes will be scattered at sunset near his favorite waterfall.
