John E Taylor, Jr.

John E. Taylor Jr. passed away peacefully in Daniel Island, SC on Sunday, August 14th 2022. 

He was predeceased by his father, John E. Taylor Sr.; mother, Stella Taylor; first spouse, Nancy Taylor; second spouse, Patricia Taylor; brother, Rev. Monsignor Francis Taylor; brother, Charles Taylor; stepson, John Robertson; and stepdaughter, Jan Fallin. 

He is survived by 4 sons: John Taylor (Pam), Charles Taylor (Darcie), Robert Taylor (Sonya), and Paul Taylor (Maureen); stepson, Jim Robertson (Cheryl); stepdaughter, Joy Hope (Jay); stepdaughter in law, Rhonda Robertson; stepson in law, Richard Fallin; 3 sisters, Stella Stott, Margaret Wainwright (Roy), and Rita Fitzpatrick; sister-in-law, Jackie Taylor; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. 

He served in the Korean War and afterwards received his degree in Industrial Engineering at Penn State University. He worked for many years as an engineer in the tire industry and retired from Uniroyal/Goodrich/Michelin in Opelika. He lived in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Arkansas, Michigan, Australia, Columbia, Venezuela, Alabama, and South Carolina. 

Family and friends will be received at Jeffcoat Trant Funeral Home, 1500 Frederick Road, Opelika, AL from 10 to 11 am on Friday August 19th. 

Mass of the resurrection will follow at 11 am in the Jeffcoat Trant Funeral Home chapel.
A graveside service will follow at Garden Hills Cemetery. 

He will be missed by family and friends. 

In lieu of flowers, we request that you find someone who has a need that you can fill, and then fill it in John’s honor.
