Joshua "Gia" Chislom unexpectedly passed away in Opelika, Alabama, on Sunday, August 4, 2024. Gia was born in Decatur, Georgia, on June 20, 1985. She graduated from Auburn High School in 2005. She was a part of the Cross Country and Track team, Drama Club, and Government Club. She loved to sing, dance, and create art. Though, her greatest love was her nieces and nephews. She absolutely adored and loved her family. After high school, Gia attended cosmetology school at Southern Union Community College in Opelika, Alabama. She was truly ahead of her time and really enjoyed fashion, hair, jewelry, and make-up. Gia was such a bright soul and lit up every room she walked in. She will be missed tremendously.
Gia was proceeded in death by her brother, Sidarian Finley, of Camphill, Alabama; maternal grandparents, Lora and AJ Cagle, of Opelika, Alabama; paternal grandmother, Bertha May Floyd, of Camphill, Alabama. She is survived by her mother, Julie Hugley of Opelika, Alabama; father Bobby Chislom, of Camphill, Alabama; sister, Erin Steele, and her husband, Devon Steele, of Phenix City, Alabama; sister, Amy Chislom, of Opelika, Alabama; sister, Ashley Bryant, and her husband, Anthony Bryant, of Opelika, Alabama; 3 nieces and 3 nephews; a special friend, Allen Smith, aunts, uncles, and a slew of cousins and friends.
Visitation will be on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. with funeral services following at 12:00 p.m. at Jeffcoat-Trant Funeral Home chapel. Repass will be held immediately after burial. Location TBA
