Katherine Jane Pickett passed away peacefully at her home Sunday, March 9, 2025. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at Jeffcoat-Trant starting at 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be 12:00 p.m. Thursday, March 13, 2025 at St. Michael's Catholic Church.
Kay was born in San Antonio, Texas on October 9, 1927 and was a Daughter of the Republic of Texas
Katherine is preceded in death by her husband Gen. Tolly Pickett Ret., her son Robert (Bobby) Hively, her brother Jerry Burdick. She is survived by her son Tony Hively, his wife Elizabeth Parker, their children Cheryl Hively, Rebecca Hively Caramanica, Caroline Hively, Heather Christian, Robert Scott Jones, Tiffany Jones Merritt, Great Grandchildren and significant others. Her nephew Steve Burdick, niece Katherine J. Burdick Neibank, and her sister-in-law June Burdick.
Kay worked as a civil servant for the Air Force until retirement. She was a multi medium artist including stain glass work, oil painting, ink sketching, ceramics and more.
