Lowell A. Williams, 85, of Auburn, AL passed away on October 29, 2023. Born on April 30,1938 in Phillipsburg, PA, he was the son of Vernon A. and Ennis (Lee) Williams. He was a former resident of the Williamsport, PA area.
Lowell was a graduate of Becarria-Coalport-Irvona High School, and he later graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a dual undergraduate degree in mathematics and science education. Lowell was a Navy veteran who served in both active duty and reserves. He also earned a Master of Science in counseling from Shippensburg University, Pennsylvania. He taught secondary math and science classes in the public schools for 30 years, retiring from the Williamsport Area School District in Pennsylvania in 1993.
He was a voracious reader, often reading multiple books at the same time. His hobbies included woodworking and studying rocks and minerals. Lowell enjoyed traveling and learning about historical landmarks. He was active in his church and enjoyed family events.
Lowell is survived by his wife of 57 years, the former Sarah Hobbs, his son, Jonathan (Beth) of Largo, FL, and his daughter, Gwendolyn of Auburn, AL. Lowell is predeceased by his parents and his brother, Lynn.
