Susan Hosemann, 75, died Tuesday, May 25, 2022, at home in Auburn after suffering a catastrophic stroke.
Mrs. Hosemann was born December 9, 1946 in Mobile, AL. She was a graduate of East Central High School in Hurley, MS, Class of 1964. She was valedictorian, class president, Beta Club, and a National Merit Finalist. She was Jackson County Fair Queen, and represented the county for national 4-H Congress.
She was a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi with a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, a Masters Degree in Special Education from the University of Alabama in Huntsville, AL, and Educational Administrator certification from Auburn University. During her 28 years at Auburn High School, she was a teacher, newspaper editor, interim principal, assistant principal and so much more. She made some wonderful, lifelong friends there.
Mrs. Hosemann was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, David Hosemann and her brothers, Denson Goff, Jr., and George Goff. She is survived by her sister, Katy Henley (Jerome) of Mobile, AL and brother, Joe Goff (Rita) of Moss Point, MS. Her children, Amy Krisher (Ralph) of Murfreesboro, TN, Julia Kennedy (Steve) of Auburn, AL, and Mark Hosemann (Alana) of Opelika, AL. Also by her grandchildren, Catherine, Kelly, Sophia, Steve Jr., Gabriel, Annalee, and Evelyn. She has numerous, delightful nieces and nephews, and some amazing grandnieces and grandnephews, too.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be directed to St. Vincent dePaul Society, St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 1100 North College St., Auburn, AL 36830 to provide food for the hungry. (See John 21:17)
A funeral service will be held 10:00am, Saturday, May 28, 2022 at Saint Michael's Catholic Church with Father Michael Farmer officiating.
