Kevin Hand, 53, passed away on Friday, November 14, 2025. Kevin was born October 11, 1972 in Opelika, Alabama to Michael and Charline Hand of LaFayette, Alabama.
Kevin was a 1991 graduate of Chambers Academy in LaFayette. He was a three-letter athlete, having played basketball, baseball, and football. He attended Auburn University and graduated from Troy State University with a degree in business. He worked in several jobs before finding his perfect place at Tallapoosa River Electric in LaFayette as Manager of Member Services.
Kevin enjoyed spending time with his family and traveling. He was an avid golfer, enjoying many games with friends. Another activity he enjoyed very much was hunting, especially duck hunting in Mississippi with friends.
Kevin also enjoyed going to football games at Reeltown and watching his daughter cheer. He was on his way to one of her games in Cottonwood, AL when his death occurred.
Kevin was a member of LaFayette Heights Baptist Church in LaFayette where he enjoyed participating in their services and activities.
Kevin was preceded in death by grandparents Charles and Tillie Cumbee, Bonnie and Pearl Hand, his father Michael D. Hand, and uncle Felton Langley, all of LaFayette and aunt Bronwyn Hand of San Antonio, Texas.
He is survived by his wife LaTonia Ison Hand, mother Charline Hand, brother Kenneth Hand and wife DeAnna, children Addison (Addie) and Kade Hand, nephews Kyle, Landon and Cohen Hand, aunt Phyllis Langley, step-daughter Cambree Fuller and granddaughter Rockie Brown.
Services will be held Tuesday, November 18 at 11 a.m. at LaFayette Heights Baptist Church with Rev. Dave Bearden and Rev. Jimmy Allen conducting the service. Visitation will be held one hour before the service from 10 a.m.-11a.m. Burial will follow in the LaFayette City Cemetery.
