Robert L Moore, 82, of Auburn, Alabama entered into the arms of Jesus on Monday, April 24, 2023. He was born January 6, 1941, in Meridian, MS to Grace and Bernard Moore.
Bob, the most loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather is survived by his wife, Barbara Moore, daughter, Elaine Bowman (Leon), granddaughters, Robin Foster (Jason), Amber Niziol (Angus), grandson, Ryan Bowman (Sydney), great grandson, Jaxton Foster, and his sister, Brenda Moore LeMond (Carlton) and her daughters, his nieces.
Bob met his future bride, Barbara Smitherman, while attending Thompson High School in Siluria, AL. He won Best Dressed and Best Dancer his senior year and graduated in 1959.
After marrying Barbara in 1961, he began a long employment with Dixie Pipeline Company working in Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi, Alabama and Georgia.
Bob was a longtime member of Parkway Baptist Church where he served as deacon, choir member, and trustee. His favorite service was teaching Sunday School with Mrs. Mary Moore to kindergarteners. The children loved him, and he most certainly loved them.
His hobbies included watching his favorite college sports teams on television. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf and his firearm collection. He was occasionally seen even playing a guitar and singing along.
Bob was truly a great man whose impact will be forever felt by his family that love him greatly. His ability to sacrifice, provide, support, forgive, and love will be forever ingrained in everyone who knew him.
Funeral services will be held 11:00am, Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Parkway Baptist Church, with visitation beginning at 9:30am prior to the service. Burial will follow in Town Creek Cemetery.
