Tellis D. (Ted) Hudson

Tellis D. (Ted) Hudson, age 90, died September 1, 2024 at his home in Auburn.  Tellis was born in Coffee County, Alabama, one of eight children born to Randall and Etta Hudson. He graduated from Elba High School and enrolled at Auburn University where he earned his Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Education and a Masters in Poultry Husbandry. He was employed in scientific jobs and completed his working career at the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences where he worked for 23 years until his retirement in 1995.   

Tellis is survived by his wife of 70 years, Kate Farris. He is also survived by three children, Gregory Tellis (Marie) of Auburn, Michael Gordon (Casey) of Equality, and Jeffrey Scott of Auburn.  He is also survived by grandchildren Steven, Crystal, Mary, Emily, and Samuel.  He is also survived by great-grandchildren Evelyn, Ezra, Sarah, Collin, Lucian and Tempest. 

Memorial services will be held at Lakeview Baptist Church on September 4 at 2:00. Visitation will be held one hour before beginning at 1:00pm at Lakeview Baptist Church.  Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetary in Auburn.
